Enyimba will face Kano Pillars on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Matchday 6 fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, with the Aba club seeking its first league victory of the season, according to reports from Complete Sports and Daily Post.
The nine-time champions have lost all four of their opening league games and sit bottom of the NPFL table, with one match still outstanding. Those details were reported by both outlets.
Speaking to the club media ahead of the trip, Enyimba assistant coach Okechukwu Ejeh said the team travelled with a single aim: to win.
“We are not here for a tea party; we are here for serious business. We are here to get the three points,” Ejeh told the club media, as reported by Complete Sports and Daily Post.
Ejeh told club media the players were ready in every area. “We are mentally ready, physically ready and tactically ready for this game. Believe me, we are optimistic that we are not leaving this ancient city empty-handed,” he added, according to both reports.
Despite the poor start, Ejeh said Enyimba still expect to reach their season target of qualifying for continental competition. “Our vision still remains to be on the continent. We are not too worried about our position for now. We will get the continental ticket,” he told the club media, per Complete Sports and Daily Post.
Both Complete Sports and Daily Post carried the coach’s comments and the match details. Complete Sports published its story with reporting by Adeboye Amosu. See Complete Sports and Daily Post for the original reports.
