Marshall Munetsi and Nene Dorgeles sit atop the scoring charts for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign after Matchday 1, Vanguard reported.
Vanguard said Munetsi scored twice in Zimbabwe’s comeback 3-2 win over Sierra Leone, finding the net in the 72nd and 88th minutes after his side had trailed by two goals. The report added that Dorgeles also struck a brace as Mali beat Cape Verde 3-1, with goals in the 39th and 51st minutes.
The outlet listed a group of players on one goal, including two Nigeria players who helped the Super Eagles defeat Madagascar 2-1 in Uyo. Vanguard named George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor among the one-goal scorers.
