Fidelity Bank promotes 433 employees in 2026 exercise

Fidelity Bank Plc said it promoted 433 staff in its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise, a figure that represents about 13 per cent of the bank’s workforce, the bank said.

The bank said this 13 per cent share rises from the 12 per cent and 11 per cent recorded in 2025 and 2024, when it promoted 376 and 337 employees, respectively.

Fidelity described the exercise as part of its efforts to recognise excellence and reward performance across the organisation. The bank said the promotions form part of measures to build a leadership pipeline and prepare staff for greater responsibilities.

The bank also outlined ongoing employee welfare initiatives it has rolled out in recent years. According to the bank, it increased salaries across all categories in 2022, 2024 and 2025, introduced staff buses to ease commuting, strengthened medical support and broadened learning and development programmes.

Fidelity said it has extended its mortgage loan and home ownership scheme to employees from Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager cadres, and has increased the applicable limits for Managers up to General Managers. The bank noted this positions it among the few institutions offering mortgage support to employees below the Manager grade.

Fidelity said the promotion exercise aligns with a broader people strategy to attract, develop, reward and retain talent, by recognising discipline, professionalism, innovation, customer focus and sustained performance.

The bank added that, since assuming office as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali Ikpe has overseen annual promotion exercises.

The bank profile provided in the announcement states Fidelity serves over 10 million customers, operates 255 business offices in Nigeria and maintains a United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited. Fidelity listed several recent awards it has received, including bank and industry recognitions in 2025.
