According to a report by Punch, England were beaten 3-2 by Spain in a UEFA Nations League match at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The report said Spain took an early lead when Lamine Yamal scored in the second minute. England recovered before half time, with Anthony Gordon and captain Harry Kane putting the hosts ahead, the account added.
Punch reported that Kane had the chance to increase England’s lead from the penalty spot but slipped as he struck the kick and the ball hit the crossbar. Spain then drew level through Alex Baena and secured the win when Mikel Oyarzabal scored the decisive goal.
The match description in the report referred to Thomas Tuchel’s side staging the recovery that put England ahead at the break.
