Happiness Cletus to represent Nigeria at Hennessy MyWay global finals in Paris

According to BellaNaija, bartender Happiness Cletus will represent Nigeria at the Hennessy MyWay Global Finals in Paris this October 2026.

The report says Cletus earned the place after winning the Hennessy MyWay Nigeria final and finishing second at the Africa Regional Finals held in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is one of three African finalists named to compete in Paris alongside regional winners from Kenya and South Africa, BellaNaija added.

Hennessy MyWay is described in the report as a global competition that asks bartenders to combine sustainable practices with storytelling. Participants may use Hennessy V.S, Hennessy V.S.O.P or Hennessy XO to create signature serves that emphasise eco-conscious mixology, ritual and individual expression, BellaNaija reports.

The outlet says Cletus stood out for a signature serve rooted in ethical bartending and Nigerian heritage. Her entry reportedly reused local ingredients, minimised waste and included a ritual presentation as part of the serve.

“Winning Hennessy MyWay Nigeria is a deeply meaningful milestone for me because it celebrates my creativity, my culture, and the future of sustainable bartending. I wanted my serve to tell an authentically Nigerian story, showing that our local ingredients, eco-conscious techniques, and talent can stand confidently on a global stage. Representing Nigeria in Paris alongside the world’s top bartenders is a huge honor. This journey is just beginning, and I can’t wait to share our vision of mixology with the world,” the report quoted Happiness Cletus as saying.

BellaNaija said Cletus will join the Top 25 market champions from around the world in Paris, where she will present her recipe, sustainability approach and ritual serve to an international panel of judges in pursuit of the Global Champion title and additional Hennessy recognitions.

The report also gives background on Hennessy, saying the cognac house was founded in 1765 and is part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. It noted the Maison’s stated aim of discovering and elevating hospitality professionals who innovate in cocktail culture.

All the details in this article are drawn from the BellaNaija report. More information on the competition is available via the Hennessy MyWay website cited in that report.
