Nigerian Navy opens 2026 Batch 39 recruitment, applications Oct 2-31

The Nigerian Navy has opened recruitment for the 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School, with online applications scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, the service said in its recruitment guideline posted on its official X handle.

The guideline, shared on the Navy’s social channel and reproduced by national media, directs eligible Nigerians to apply through the service’s official recruitment portal. Applicants are required to be citizens by birth and to possess a valid National Identification Number, the Navy said.

Key eligibility, medical and documentary requirements listed in the guideline include the following.

• Applicants must be physically, medically and psychologically fit and have no previous criminal conviction.
• Minimum height requirements are 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.
• Candidates applying with O’Level qualifications must be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026, and have at least five credits including Mathematics and English in not more than two sittings.
• The guideline sets separate age and qualification criteria for applicants with OND and NCE certificates, tradesmen, applicants in medical-related professions and sportsmen and women.

After completing the online form, applicants are required to print and retain several documents, including the acknowledgement slip, parent or guardian consent where applicable, Local Government attestation and guarantor’s certification forms, the guideline states.

The Navy said the dates and venues for the recruitment examination would be communicated to successful applicants in due course.

The service warned prospective applicants not to pay anyone to facilitate recruitment. “Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the exercise,” the guideline said. The Navy also cautioned that only a single valid application would be accepted and that multiple online applications would be disqualified.

Finally, the guideline requires applicants to be able to communicate in basic English and states that inability to do so may lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process.
